The One-Button Top is a completely rebellious concept in which I, a professionally trained patternmaker and designer, take rules and bend them to my will. The button itself is the emphasis in the entire design. It must be chosen in a manner befitting of a scoundrel.
Another design that came along in the Margarette Laizure repetiore is the Kitten Pocket Tunic, so named by a rather funny fellow by the name of Callum Lamb. Callum has his own quaint designs under the label Mademoiselle Lamb. The Kitten Pocket Tunic will house one of your furry purry friends of course, but is also very well suited to a giant cell phone or hand-held video console which is far more fun to use. The pocket indeed is its emphasis.
Spring is definitely (achoo!!) in the air and I just wanted to acknowledge that it has a definite mood elevating quality! My fabrics lighten and brighten in my designs and I remind myself to take time to go out to smell the flowers! Before it's gone I wanted to share my inspiration with you: I will be joining Harumi K for another Friday Studio Sale, on 4/14 from 11:30-1pm at 4209 Howe Street right here in Oakland. In case you can't make it, be sure to check back here for future events in the works!
Happy Spring to Everyone!!!!
We love bikes. How can you tell?
This fabric shouted "buy me and make a bike friendly skirt!" It is the very first item I made when I decided to be a fashion designer! It is from Japan and I used ideas from Samurai costumes for design elements.
